- Why I specialize in trauma
- What drew me to trauma work is seeing how often people blame themselves for patterns that actually developed as adaptations to difficult experiences. Trauma can shape how we relate to ourselves, others, and the world, but it doesn't define who we are. Rather than asking "what's wrong with you?" I'm interested in asking "what happened to you, and how did your mind and body learn to survive?" I believe healing happens when we understand those protective strategies with compassion instead of judgment.
- How I create a safe, supportive environment
- You can expect our first sessions to move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. My priority is building trust before we dive into difficult experiences. I'll spend time getting to know you, not just what happened to you, but who you are, what's important to you, and what you hope your life can look like. Insight matters, but insight alone doesn't always make change, so I integrate therapy with body-based awareness, mindfulness, and nervous system regulation. Together we'll create goals that are meaningful, and I'll check in regularly to make sure our work feels collaborative and supportive.
- What I want to help members see in themselves
- Your responses make sense, even if they don't feel that way right now. The ways you've learned to cope likely helped you survive at one point in your life. Healing isn't about becoming someone different. It's about reconnecting with who you were before trauma convinced you that you had to stay in survival mode. I believe therapy should be a place where you feel accepted exactly as you are, while also being supported to grow.
- My message to you if you are struggling right now
- You don't have to do this alone. Whatever patterns you're carrying, they made sense for what you lived through, and they don't have to be permanent. With the right support, you can reconnect with your strengths and build a life that feels more aligned with who you truly are. It would be an honor to be part of that.
